Babylonstoren represents over three centuries of South African winemaking excellence. Established in 1692 as one of the Cape Winelands' oldest working estates, this historic Cape Dutch farm has evolved into a world-renowned destination for discerning wine lovers, combining 17th-century heritage with contemporary winemaking innovation.
Under the stewardship of winemaker Klaas Stoffberg and cellar master Charl Coetzee, Babylonstoren produces elegant, balanced wines that reflect their singular terroir: 88 hectares of sustainably-farmed vineyards planted against the backdrop of Simonsberg mountain at altitudes reaching 600 metres. Their philosophy is elegantly simple—crafting wines with "truth to the area and simplicity by making wines as natural as possible."
The estate grows 13 distinct grape varieties, from peachy Viogniers and brioche-noted Chardonnays to flagship Bordeaux-style blends.
