We’ve imported the hottest chilli peppers known to man (The Carolina Reaper). After crushing, we carefully combined them with herbs and our 28-day hung beef before embarking on a short air-curing period of 4 days.
The result? Something to be taken very seriously. If you think you are up to handling the hottest biltong in the UK, then Billy Tong’s Reaper biltong is your challenge. #billytongreaperchallenge
If this level of heat is just too much for you, then we would refer you to our Scotch Bonnet biltong which comes in at a mere 300,000 SHU’s
The heat intensity of chilli peppers is measured universally in Scoville Heat Units (SHU), and our Reaper averages 1.6 million SHU’s.
To put this in perspective, our Peri-Peri biltong averages a mere 100,000 SHU’s. Our Cheeky Chilli biltong averages 35,000 SHU’s.
Because of the importation of these very special ingredients, this is a little more expensive than our normal biltong, and we sell it only in 5 x 100g bags.
