About Our Peri-Peri Droewors
Peri-Peri Droewors, just like our biltong beef snack, this spicy peri-peri flavoured droewors beef snack will be sufficiently hot for most of our customers. About 5 on our heat scale.
Just like all of our droewors, the herbs and spices are introduced after the mincing, which helps them retain their authenticity and adds to the depth of flavour.
Peri-peri sauce, also known as piri-piri or pili-pili, is a spicy sauce made from African bird’s eye chilli peppers. It is commonly used as a condiment in Portuguese and African cuisine.
The peppers are harvested to make peri-peri sauce and then left to dry in the sun. Once dried, the peppers are ground into a fine powder and mixed with various ingredients such as vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, and spices. The mixture is then left to ferment for several days before being bottled and sold as peri-peri sauce.
Some sauce variations may include additional ingredients such as oil, onions, or tomato puree to add thickness and flavour. The final product is a spicy and flavorful sauce that adds a kick to a variety of dishes, including our very own peri-peri droewors.
